Propel Northside has partnered with Penn State to bring Project Team to our school. Project TEAM is a school-wide anti-bullying movement to help schools evolve into TEAM-oriented cultures. Through the process of implementing and practicing the Project TEAM program and curriculum, a school will see a climate change that brings every person in the school together to work toward one common goal. This instills a sense of belonging in students, a decrease in bullying, teaches proactive social skills, and creates future leaders. Students involved in Project TEAM have a deeper sense of doing the right thing. They gain important knowledge that they can use in real life situations but also aid in their academics. Project TEAM brings a positive change to students, families, and communities. These changes then become a way of life. Each month, the we meet a new Project Team Member and the quality they exemplify. Students who exemplify these qualities receive tokens that are applied toward a school-wide goal of 50,000 tokens by the end of the year. We celebrate our successes on the first Friday of each month with a House Party.September: Helping Others (Harper)
October: Anti-Bullying (Amelia)
November:Positive Change (Paco)
December: Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution (Philo)
January: Resiliency (Ruby)
February: Leadership (Lamar)
March: Career Discovery
Last year’s library visits were such a success, we are doing it again! Students will have the opportunity to visit the Carnegie Library on the Northside once a month with their class. Students will be able to check out library books and engage in activities with the amazing librarians.
Please make sure you have filled out and returned your library card application. Field Trip forms will be coming soon. Please make sure you return it to your child’s teacher as soon as possible, so they do not miss out on this amazing opportunity.
If you have any questions please reach out to your child’s teacher or Mr. Powell.
