Two post-secondary scholarships are awarded annually to students of Propel Schools who have demonstrated success, resilience and are poised to carry forward Propel’s values. Students interested in consideration for the award completed an application, 500 word essay and were then invited for a round of interviews with Propel teachers, staff and administrators.
We are excited to announce that the 2017 Future Achievement Scholarship Trust (FAST Award) has been granted to Jhordan Price of Propel Homestead and Nathaniel Lucas of Propel Northside!
Jhordan Price has been attending Propel Homestead for the past four years. Miss Shawnda has been her biggest motivator at Propel, always pushing Jhordan to do her best. Jhordan’s favorite part of going to school at Propel is the Creative Arts Program. She has been performing since she was 5 and loves being able to express herself in school. When Jhordan grows up she wants to be a performer. On stage or in front of the camera she hopes to make a career out of acting, singing, dancing and writing. Jhordan will be attending Propel Braddock Hills High School in the fall.
Nathaniel Lucas has been attending Propel Northside for the past six years. He thanks all of his teachers at Propel Northside for motivating him to always do his best, especially Mr. Cook who taught him the importance of hard work when trying to achieve your goals. Nathaniel believes that the hands on environment at Propel has helped him succeed thus far. He is excited to head to high school to meet new people. He will be attending Taylor Allderdice High School in the fall and hopes to one day be a starting catcher for the New York Yankees.
