Dennis Beitel at Propel Braddock Hills Elementary is the first Propel Educator to use an amazing FREE resource from Google’s CS First initiative to increase computer science skills in elementary schools. As an extension of Mr. Beitel’s Sound unit in Science, his third-grade students are working through 8 activities designed by Google computer science engineers that teach computer programming skills through engaging activities. In Music & Sound, students use web-based Scratch to play musical notes, create a music video, and build interactive music display while learning how programming is used to create music! Google CS First serves students ages 9 through 14, and we look forward to seeing more educators use this resource. Great work Braddock Hills Elementary 3rd grader scientists!
