Students, families, friends and supporters of Propel recently gathered to officially welcome Hazelwood to the Propel family of schools. During the celebration, honored guests spoke about the importance of neighborhood schools and challenging students to excel academically. Grant Oliphant of The Heinz Endowments brought students to the podium area to ask them about their favorite elements of Propel Hazelwood. Students answered with enthusiasm, most often citing their satisfaction with teachers, learning and fun! A representative from Councilman Corey O’Connor’s office read a proclamation, naming Tuesday, September 16th as “Propel Hazelwood Day” in the City of Pittsburgh! We thank everyone who joined our celebration!
