In the event of Severe Winter Weather…

1. We do NOT have 2 Hour Delays. If school is open, our doors will open at 8:00am.  With more than twelve school districts sending us students it is impossible to have a delay. 
2. Our decision to cancel school because of weather is only made if McKeesport Area School District is closed for the day.
3. If we need to cancel school, you will receive an automated call from our Alert Now System.  It is vital that we have accurate phone numbers and email addresses for this process.
4. You can watch any of the local news stations (KDKA, WTAE, and WPXI) to look for a closed message for Propel McKeesport (make sure you look for ‘Propel McKeesport’ as we have other Propel Schools around the region with potentially different messages). You casn also check the websites for these stations.(KDKA, WTAE, and WPXI)
5. If your child rides a school bus from a district that is having a delay, then the bus will be delayed. These students will not be marked Tardy.  However, we recommend you bring your child to school at 8:00am if you can supply your own transportation.
6. Please use extra caution bringing your child to and from school on a day with inclement weather.  Make sure your child is dressed warmly and prepared to have a great day of learning.
