Montour on the Move Running Club
Montour on the Move is a co-ed afterschool physical fitness program designed to teach boys and girls in grades 5-8 the importance of maintaining a healthy active lifestyle. We teach students healthy eating habits and basic physical fitness through a series of interactive mini lessons and running activities.
Who is invited?
Any 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grade student that is interested in learning more about running or in becoming a better runner.
When is it?
The group will meet on Mondays from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The first group meeting will be Monday March 7, 2016.
Where will we meet?
The group will meet at Propel Montour and will run in the adjacent parking lot/grassy area.
What do I need to bring?
Runners must bring a pair of tennis shoes and comfortable clothing for Monday afternoon trainings.
How much does it cost?
There is no fee to join Montour on the Move! The group will host various fundraising events throughout the school year to help pay for races.
How long does the program run?
The program will run through May (date TBD). We ask that runners commit to the group until it ends to ensure we have the correct number of race registrations.What do I need to do to get started?
Have your parents fill out the attached permission form and return it to Mr. McCree, Mrs.
Jackson, Mr. Dow, or Ms. Blackmore by Friday March 4, 2016. PLEASE NOTE: Students may not participate in the club until a permission form has been turned in.
