Propel Braddock Hills High School student, Troy Miles, has been named one of only six 2013 Luminari Award Scholars. Each winner will receive a scholarship worth more than $1,200, which will be used for admission to Luminari’s I Want To Be an Ambassador! camp over the summer. According to the Luminari website, the I Want to be an Ambassador! summer camp is a seven-day experience, designed to help teens master the skill sets and character traits of a successful Ambassador… especially the vital art of diplomacy.
The Luminari Award Scholars were chosen based on merit, and are individuals who demonstrated motivation, open-mindedness, and a willingness to not only learn, but to be inspired by “out-of-the-box” activities. Luminari is a a Pittsburgh-based non-profit organization, with a mission to foster original activities that broaden minds, inspire innovations and promote community engagement. The President and Founder of Luminari, Hilda Fu, said, “We have two goals for the Luminari Award. One goal is to reward students for their noteworthy personal and academic qualities, and the second is to honor the dynamic schools and inspiring teachers who support these students.”
Join us in congratulating Troy for this prestigious accomplishment!
