Propel Schools Foundation held the annual FUTURE ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP TRUST (FAST) luncheon on March 23 for our 14 eighth grade finalists. Two post-secondary scholarships ($16,500 each) are awarded annually to students of Propel Schools who have demonstrated success, resilience, and are poised to carry forward Propel’s values. A Selection Committee of internal and external members chose McKeesport student Donald Poindexter and Northside student Jeremiah Fielder Bailey. Donald is a self-proclaimed math enthusiast who is also aware that he will be a lifelong learner and always “pick himself up,” no matter what challenges come his way. Jeremiah spoke eloquently about his volunteer work in Africa and the life lessons he gained from this experience. He hopes to be a successful entrepreneur and is proud to have joined Northside’s Tech Team. Congratulations to these exceptional young people!
