Director of Pupil Personnel Services Propel Schools seeks a Director of Pupil Personnel Services. The Director of Pupil Personnel Services involves the following responsibilities: (1) maintaining liaison relationships with all administrators so as to facilitate effective pupil service; (2) development, implementation, and evaluation of all programs and services for children with disabilities; (3) coordinating pupil services and special education with regular education; (4) assisting the superintendent and business manager in preparing a budget for special education and pupil services; (5) maintaining relations with appropriate community agencies and resources that facilitate services to children within pupil services/special education programs; (6) keeping school staff informed of their responsibilities concerning compliance with laws and regulations affecting special education/pupil services; (7) ensuring compliance with relevant state and federal laws; (8) establishing and overseeing recordkeeping methods relating to students concerning pupil services and special education; (9) submitting an annual report concerning pupil services and special education to the superintendent; (10) preparing all forms required to ensure legal compliance with state and federal laws pertaining to special education; (11) providing in-service training on special education and pupil service issues; (12) recruiting and recommending candidates for special education and pupil service staff positions; (13) coordinating services to English language learners, homebound students, homeless students, or those in the child welfare system; and (14) coordinating section 504 plans. Successful candidates will have PA certification in the area of Supervision of Special Education or Supervision of Pupil Personnel Services. Creative Arts Building Crafts Instructor The Building Crafts instructor at Propel Schools is a full time position, working part time as an arts instructor and part time as a paraprofessional. This person must be both a teacher and craftsman. The instructor must have worked as a professional in the field of tech theater, scene design, or make-shop for at least two years and have proven artistic ability. Teacher should also have knowledge of classroom management in a high school setting and have the ability to adjust their teaching plan for differentiated learning styles of each student. This teacher will instruct two to three classes per day and perform additional duties as a paraprofessional during non-teaching hours. Instructor should have at least a BA or BS in related field.
