Propel Scholar-Athlete Reaches Ultimate Milestone

Propel Schools Athletic Director Robert Alpino, Coach Damien Cornish, and Assistant Athletic Direct Deb Fanning congratulate basketball player Benjamin Meyhew and his parents.

Propel Braddock Hills High School Senior basketball player Benjamin Mayhew scored his 1,000th point on February 10, 2023, against Eden Christian Academy. This achievement makes him the first-ever Propel scholar-athlete to reach this milestone. Mayhew stepped onto the court needing 1 point. When the ball went through the net in the first quarter, the stands erupted as the crowd stood to their feet and cheered.

He is a talented basketball player and excels in the classroom. We appreciate his hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Propel Braddock Hills High School basketball program," said Propel Schools Athletic Director Robert Alpino.

Reaching the 1,000-point mark for a high school basketball player takes skill, consistency, avoiding injury, and motivation.

"This achievement and the school's first WPIAL playoff berth should inspire future scholar-athletes to know that achieving success in sports at Propel is possible, just like any other school," said Coach Damien Cornish.

Congratulations to Benjamin and the entire Propel Braddock Hills boys basketball team.
