Principal, Propel McKeesport
Years with Propel: 2
A former principal-in-training at Propel McKeesport, I was named the school’s principal in 2020 (my 12 year in education). I seek to empower scholars to become positive, active, and global citizens. Previously, I served as an instructional coach at Propel Montour High School in 2019. Some of my accomplishments at Propel include implementing data specific remediation groups, serving as a testing coordinator, and being trained as the school’s restorative practice representative. Prior to joining Propel, I was an educator in Atlanta, Morocco, China, Qatar, and other exciting places around the world. My global experiences have provided me with a firm understanding of the value, weight and enormous effect education holds in everyone’s life, regardless of background, race or nationality. My intentional experiences also bring a unique perspective in terms of expanding scholars’ perspectives beyond their backyard. I have worked in fully accredited STEM certified schools as well as IB certified schools while serving scholars of all nationalities and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, I have a wealth of experience implementing Lego robotics in the classroom as I received my certification and training from the Lego Education Academy Program. I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve as Principal of McKeesport while continuing to develop critical thinkers who are well equipped to engage with global perspectives.
I am #PropelProud because…
Propel has provided me with an opportunity to contribute to a paradigm shift regarding the disproportionate representation of African Americans in leadership positions.
When I am not working I enjoy…
shopping and cooking.
