During the 2022 EMPOWER, Pennsylvania's Out-of-School Time Conference, Amy Burrows, Propel Schools Assistant Director of Afterschool, was recognized as an Afterschool Champion.

Ms. Burrows worked as Propel McKeesport's afterschool program site coordinator for five years. For the past decade as Assistant Director, she has worked tirelessly to ensure that all afterschool sites have quality programming. She is instrumental in producing the annual Afterschool Gala, which attracts hundreds of Propel families to a local museum to celebrate the artistic creations of our scholars.

"Without Amy, our afterschool program would not have the depth, breadth, or resources that we enjoy. Amy may not step into the spotlight, but she always shines," said Afterschool Program Director Dr. Rosemary Anderson.

This year's Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool Youth Development Network (PASYDN) annual conference was held November 30-December 2 in Lancaster, PA.

Propel's Afterschool Program is free for Propel families and provides academic enrichment and life skills-building opportunities that positively impact our scholars' life trajectories. Find out more information about our Afterschool Program here
